Abstract

Contribution to an issue devoted to special libraries and the virtual or electronic library. Briefly describes the introduction of new software products, NewsEdge for Windows and Lotus Notes, at the Bankers Trust in New York, and the relationship between the employees' use of this software and their use of the information centre at hte Trust. The changes in user behavious with regard to the information centre have not been redical enough to raise the librarian's status to that of 'consulting' or 'analytical' librarian
