Abstract
Im klassischen Buchhandel tut sich etwas. Immer öfter finden die Käufer CD-ROMs statt gedruckter Werke in den Regalen. Der Einzug der Datenbanken ist der Branche nur recht. Der Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels hofft, daß seine Mitglieder zur Jahrhundertwende ein Fünftel ihres Umsatzes mit 'runder Literatur' erzielen. Doch die Pioniere an der Verkaufsfront merken: Mit den silbernen Scheiben handeln sie sich nicht nur goldene Zahlen ein. Die glatte Oberfläche der CD-ROMs hat bereits häßliche Schrammen bekommen.
