Abstract

Considers whether one of the characteristics of electronic communication, such as the Internet or electronic mail, the impossibility of gaining specific information about the person being talked to (age, sex, etc.) could lead to a more egalitarian method of communication. Concludes that the Internet is not Utopian, particularly for women, and is still the domain of middle class, highly educated, white males, between ages of 18 and 30
