Abstract

Die Begriffe des Lexikons, des lexikalischen Wissens und des Weltwissens werden diskutiert. Das Lexikon wird dabei als Produkt explizit-metakommunikativer oder usuell-kommunikativer Vereinbarungen (Konventionen) einer Sprachgemeinschaft aufgefaßt, während es sich bei lexikalischem Wissen um eine individuelle Komponente sprachlicher Kommunikation handelt, die aus dem Weltwissen durch Abstraktion, Klassifikation und Benennung entsteht. Es wird auf die Probleme des Verhältnisses von Sprache und Realität hingewiesen, die möglicherweise durch das Konzeot des Weltwissens als mentaler Repräsentant der Wirklichkeit gelöst werden. Auf Möglichkeiten der Computersimulation von sprachlichem Wissen wird aufmerksam gemacht
