Abstract

CD-ROMs werde zum alltäglichen Speichermedium für Nachschlagewerke, Programmsammlungen und Multimediaprodukte. Datenbanken, die bisher nur Spezialisten zur Verfügung standen, können jetzt leicht in großer Auflage als CD-ROMs verbreitet werden. Eine sehr interessante Sammlung ist die CD-ROM der Fa. ekz mit dem Volltext von mehr als 100.000 Kurzrezensionen deutschsprachigen Belletristik, Sach- und Fachbüchern, dazu Videos, Audio-CDs, Spiele, Landkarten usw. Im folgenden werden Benutzung und Nutzen dieser CD-ROM genauer betrachtet und ihr Wert als umfangreiches Nachschlagewerk für jedermann diskutiert
