Abstract

The information retrieval system OMNIS, supported by the full text databank system Myriad was developed at Munich Technical University. OMNIS/Myriad uses the most modern technical developments for scanning, OCR, multimedia data structuring and full text retrieval for use in libraries and offices. A network of workstations in client-server architecture support document storage, retrieval and loans. OMNIS/Myriad has improved the mathematics and informatics faculties' library services qualitatively and quantitatively
