Abstract

Revision of the RAK alphabetical cataloguing rules for music libraries began in 1992. The revised rules were intended to move closer to the rules for academic libraries and to allow for reforms of rules for audiovisual media and non-book material. The rules cover printed music and some other media and are about definitions, bibliographic description, unit subject entries, main and subordinate entries, abbreviated and expanded cataloguing
