Abstract

Changes in cataloguing practices and philosophies, new technologies and vendor services, and enhanced efficiency and productivity produce new assignements for copy cataloguers in academic libraries. Paraprofessionals, as a result, perform cataloguing tasks previously done by librarians. They should have opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills, and benefit from challenging work assignments
