Abstract

Sieht so die Zukunft aus? Am Großbildschirm in ihrem Wohnzimmer rufen die Menschen Kinofilme und Nachrichten ab. Sie kaufen mit der Fernbedienung in der Hand ein, lesen am Schirm Zeitung, lernen und spielen. Im Zimmer nebenan ist der Telearbeiter der Familie tätig. Frei von festen Arbeitszeiten und Verkehrsproblemen, sendet er die Ergebnisse seines elektronischen Wirkens direkt an Arbeitgeber oder Kunden. Über Computer und Bildtelephon arbeitet er mit Fachleuten in aller Welt zusammen, die räumliche Entfernung soielt für ihn keine Rolle mehr. In den Arbeitspausen sieht er seine elektronische Post durch. Schöne neue Welt - häßliche neue Welt: wenige Technologien haben so große Hoffnungen und zugleich so dramatische Ängste geweckt wie die Infbahn, das Sinnbild der modernen Informationsgesellschaft
