Abstract

Reviews briefly the development of Western language material cataloguing in Chinese libraries and the impact of AACR2 on them. Concludes that cataloguing of Western language material in Chinese libraries belongs in the Anglo-American system, and suggests that a positive attitude should be taken by Chinese librarians to the research and development of AACR2, to suit the Chinese situation in order to achieve genuine improvements
