Abstract

This article gives a brief history of the analysis and computation of the mathematical constant Ò = 3,14159..., including a number of formulas that have been used to compute Ò through the ages. Some exciting recent developments are then discussed in some detail, including the recent computation of Ò to over 6 billion decimal digits
