Reports on a seminar held by the Association of Learned, Professional and Scholarly Publishers and the Foundation for Science and Technology, 16 Feb 96, London, which discussed why learned societies should and could use the Internet. Discussion covered: e-mail posting, protocols, financial models, advantages to societies, electronic publishing, financial implications for societies, the role of the printed journal and academic status of electronic products
