Abstract

Outlines the introduction of public access to the Internet at several of the main libraries in Cumbria during early 1996. Modest charges are made for introductory training and the booking of the sessions. Children under 16 are only allowed to use the service if occupied by an adult. The positive response has encouraged Cumbria's belief that libraies should be in the vanguard of this type of information provision
