Abstract
Neun nationale und regionale Bibliotheksverbünde garantieren Benutzern und Bibliotheken einen umfassenden Zugriff auf Bücher und Zeitschriften, die in deutschen Bibliotheken vorhanden sind. 27 Millionen Titel mit ihren Standorten sind online abfragbar. Volltexte ergänzen zunehmend das Angebot. Fernleihbestellungen können daher schneller und gezielter als bisher erledigt werden. Über das Internet kann vom Arbeitsplatz aus recherchiert werden. Die Bibliotheksverbünde unterstützen über Internet auch die Suche in ausländischen Bibliothekskatalogen (z.B. Library of Congress) und anderen Datenbanken
