Abstract

Describes a thinking aloud study with OPAC users at HÖB which revealed considerable difficulties caused by the inadequate design of the interface and the search options for online catalogues. Reports results of an analysis of comments by users on misunderstandings and abortive search attempts which provides insights into strategies for improved OPAC design
