Abstract

Die Schulen sollen dabei helfen, die heutige Jugend für die Anforderungen der Informationsgesellschaft fit zu machen. Doch wie und wann wird die Schule fit für diese Aufgabe? In den USA hat Präsident Clinton und ihm folgend auch Tony Blair für Großbritannien entsprechende Untersuchungen veranlaßt. Für Deutschland lagen vergleichbare Studien und Zahlen bisher nicht vor. Herbert Kubicek and Andreas Breitner von der Forschungsgruppe Telekommunikation an der Universität Bremen haben die US-Studien ausgewertet und eine erste Schätzung der Kosten verschiedener Ausstattungsmodelle für Deutschland erstellt. Die zum Teil in den Medien verkürzt wiedergegebenen Zahlen haben für einige Irritationen gesorgt. Die FR veröffentlicht eine von den Autoren leicht gekürzte und überarbeitet Version der Kurzfassung
