Abstract

Discusses cataloguing issues examined during the 63rd Council and general Conference of the IFLA, Copenhagen, 31 Aug - 5 Sep 1997. These include the following internation cooperative efforts: OPAC Network in Europe (ONE); European Community Libraries Programme initiatives; the OCLC international cataloguing efforts; ISBD; an IFLA OPAC study; Functional requirements for bibliographic records; and the various MARC initiatives. Other issues examined include the future of cataloguing and cataloguers and the reaffirmation of professional values
