Abstract

Gives details of the application of UNIMARC to the European Register of Microform Masters (EROMM), a cooperative venture of the French, UK and Portuguese national libraries and Gottingen University, Germany to avoid duplication in microfilming and facilitate the ordering of copies. Presents a table illustrating the use of the 900 Block be EROMM and discusses UNIMARC application to multi-volume works and to digital documents which will also be the concern of EROMM. Also outlines the use of UNIMARC for recording Hand Press Books Database in the project CERL, the Consortium of European Research Libraries which is a cooperative effort to improve the recording and protection of, and research into, the European printed heritage
