Abstract

Neue Medien sollen - so heißt es in der politischen und öffentlichen Debatte allenthalben - breit eingesetzt werden. Sicherlich faszinieren und motivieren sie und signalisieren die Zeichen der Zeit, aber was mit ihnen didaktisch angefangen werden soll, ist vielen noch unklar, zumal fachdidaktische und medienpädagogische bzw. computerbezogene Lernziele längst noch nicht hinreichend aufeinander abgestimmt sind, ja sich nicht selten behindern oder gar widerstreiten. Journalisten hingegen, die zusammen mit Politikern die öffentliche Debatte bestreiten und unentwegt nach dem verstärkten Einsatz neuer Medien rufen, sind schon begeistert, wenn ein Kind am Rechner sitzt, und schwärmen nicht minder euphorisch davon, was Kinder und Jugendliche bereits alles können - ohne Anleitung und vor allem im Vergleich zu den angeblich trägen, lernunfähigen und verunsicherten Lehrerinnen. So werden ständig Erwartungen wie die folgenden ventiliert: Internet bzw. seine kompetente Nutzung - verändert das Lernen und die Lernorganisation, - optimiert das Lernen, erhöht die Lernchancen und -motivation, - erzeugt Medienkompetenz bzw. Medienbildung, - ist eine unverzichtbare Kulturtechnik und Kommunikationsform, - vermittelt Wissen und Fähigkeiten, - verändert Unterricht und die Rolle von Lehrenden und Lernenden, - bewirkt eine Bildungsreform, - schafft Qualifikation und verbessert Berufsaussichten, - erhöht die Wettbewerbschancen der Wirtschaft, - steht für Globalisierung und Informations- bzw. Wissensgesellschaft. Lehrerinnen sehen sich hingegen ständig damit konfrontiert, dass sich zwischen diesen Erwartungen und der Wirklichkeit in der Schule erhebliche Diskrepanzen auftun
