Abstract

Ungeachtet der Fortschritte im Bereich des Instructional Design sind die meisten hypermedia-basierten Lernumgebungen im Internet (WWW) nicht viel mehr als "FolienBlättermaschinen". Ein weiterer Nachteil liegt darin, daß die einmal erstellten Ressourcen nicht ohne weiteres in anderen Kontexten wiederverwendet werden können. Ein Vorschlag für eine qualitative Verbesserung webbasierter Lernumgebungen besteht darin, didaktisches Wissen - in Form von Metadaten - explizit in den Autoren- und Lemprozeß zu integrieren. Ausgehend von den Bemühungen innerhalb der Web-Community einen Standard für (allgemeine) Metadaten zu entwickeln, wird im Rahmen dieses Beitrags ein Überblick über erste internationale Ansätze für die Entwicklung einer didaktischen Beschreibungssprache dargestellt. Fast alle Projekte, die sich mit der Entwicklung pädagogischer Metadaten beschäftigen, stützen sich auf Dublin Core und erweitern diesen Standard insbesondere um spezifisch pädagogische Elemente. Mit dem Ziel, einen breit akzeptierten Standard zur Beschreibung pädagogischer Ressourcen zu erreichen, haben IMS (Instructional Management System) und ARIADNE (Alliance of Remote Instructional Authoring and Distribution Networks for Europe) einen gemeinsamen Vorschlag für eine Metadaten-Spezifikation ("Learning Object Metadata (LOM)") beim IEEE LTSC (Learning Technology Standards Committee) eingereicht. Mit dem darauf aufsetzenden Ansatz des L3-Projektes möchten wir die Diskussion pädagogischer Metadaten voranbringen
