"Die 6. Neuauflage des mutlimedialen Nachschlagewerks Encarta ist um einige neue Inhalte und Funktionen erweitert worden. So lassen sich mit den Virtuellen 3D-Reisen antike Stätten erkunden, oder durch die Verlinkung mit dem Internet Web-Radiostationen aus aller Welt abhören. In der Encarta Professional 2002 sind erstmalig der Encarta Weltatlas und die Enzyklopädie in einem Pordukt vereint. Der Anwender kann zum Beispiel über das nächste Urlaubziel fliegen" oder Orte von historischer Bedeutung auffinden. Die CD-ROM eignet sich gut für Schule und Studium, aber auch einfach für Recherche-Zwecke. Encarta Professional bietet einen Wissensschatz von über 46.000 Artikeln. 24.000 Medienelemente, wie Fotos, Videos und Audioclips bereiten die Inhalte anschaulich auf."
