Abstract
Das Thema Internet wird zur Zeit zwar intensiv diskutiert, bisher gibt es jedoch nur eine sehr geringe Anzahl an veröffentlichten Studien, welche die Nutzung des Internets im Rahmen der universitären Forschungspraxis analysieren (vgl. Savolainen 1998). Dies war der Anlass zur Durchführung einer explorativen Studie an der Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen (SOWI) Fakultät der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, mit der Zielsetzung, die Nutzung und Bedeutung des Internets für universitäre Forschungsaktivitäten näher zu untersuchen. Zudem sollte überprüft werden, ob es signifikante Unterschiede in der Nutzung von Internet-Diensten zwischen Professoren und Assistenten gibt
