Abstract

Der Beitrag beruht auf der Annahme, dass die mit Mitarbeiterabgängen zwangsläufig verbundenen Wissensverluste durch geeignete Maßnahmen des Wissensmanagements abgemindert werden können. Ausgehend von einem ganzheitlichen Verständnis von Knowledge Management (»Wissensökologie«) diskutiert der Autor »Knowledge Communities« als eine Möglichkeit Human Resource-orientierter Intervention zur Reduzierung von Wissensrisiken in wissensbasierten Organisationen. Im Anschluss an eine begriffliche und theoretische Grundlegung (Wissensbegriff, Wissensmanagementkonzept) wird das generell-abstrakte Knowledge CommunityKonzept entfaltet. Es werden Wissensgemeinschaften als ein Instrument zur Vernetzung und zur Kommunikation von Wissen in Organisationen allgemein eingeführt und deren zentrale Charakteristika herausgearbeitet. Nutzenpotentiale werden damit verbundenen Risiken und Barrieren gegenübergestellt, noch bevor abschließend auf für ihren erfolgreichen Einsatz relevante Bedingungen und Gestaltungsdimensionen eingegangen wird.
