Abstract

Die Bundesregierung hat ihre Fachinformationspolitik im Jahre 1999 unter den Begriff der DIGITALEN BIBLIOTHEK gestellt. Die Verbesserung des Zugangs zu weltweit verteilter und miteinander vernetzter Information steht seither im Mittelpunkt der Fördermaßnahmen. In Anbetracht der dynamischen Entwicklung der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien und der damit einhergehenden Strukturveränderungen in der Fachinformation und Fachkommunikation hat das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung eine Studie zur »Zukunft der wissenschaftlichen und technischen Information in Deutschland« erarbeiten lassen und im September 2002 die künftigen Leitlinien seiner Förderpolitik in dem strategischen Positionspapier »Information vernetzen - Wissen aktivieren« dargelegt.
