Abstract

Auf dem ersten "World Summit an the Information Society" (WSIS) der Vereinten Nationen, der vom 10. bis 12. Dezember in Genf stattfand, stellte die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) ihre Aktivitäten zur Verringerung des bestehenden Nord-Süd-Gefälles bei Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien vor.

Gemeinsam präsentierten die deutsche Regierung, in der internationalen Zusammenarbeit tätige Organisationen wie die GTZ, Wirtschaft und Zivilgesellschaft ihre Aktivitäten auf der parallel zum WSIS stattfindenden internationalen Messe "ICT4D-Platform". Die Internetpräsenz www.germany-atwsis.info spiegelt in komprimierter Form eben diese Aktivitäten wider und möchte überfolgende GTZ-Aktivitäten informieren und zum Dialog einladen. - "Das E-Learning Projekt "Crystal - Netzwerk für Trainings- und Unterrichtsmedien" - "The Global Trade Training", ein Public Private Partnership-Vorhaben in Südafrika, bei dem Angestellte im Speditionssektor durch E-Learning weiterqualifiziert werden. - Joblab(R), ein Programm zur Karriereplanung für Jugendliche in Uganda, China und Chile - GATE, ein vom Bundesministerium fürwirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) finanziertes Programm zur Förderung angepasster Technologien. - Strategien für die Internetanbindung ländlicher Gebiete in Mali und Mauretanien. - Ländliche Informationssysteme in Peru und Bolivien.
