Abstract

Die Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek feiert in diesem Jahr ihr 50-jähriges Bestehen. In BuB sind deshalb bereits drei Artikel' über die facettenreiche und nach dem Vorbild US-amerikanischer Public Libraries konzipierte Einrichtung erschienen. Hier stellen Christine-Dorothea Sauer und Paul S. Ulrich einen weiteren Spezialbereich der Bibliothek vor: den Auskunfts- und Informationsdienst. Dabei geht es um die Entwicklung von den Anfängen der Allgemeinen Auskunft der Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek bis hin zum Referat Informationsdienste der heutigen Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin.
