Abstract

Wissensmanagement ist in vielen Unternehmen inzwischen verankert. Zahlreiche Methoden und Werkzeugefürden Umgang mit internem Wissen und Informationen haben sich etabliert. In diesem Feld sind Informationsspezialisten allerdings selten vertreten, vor allem weil der Beruf des Informationsspezialisten nicht ausreichend bekannt ist. Dabei ist das Know-how derInformation Professionals besonders wichtig für die Erschließung von Dokumentbeständen, den Aufbau von Klassifikationen oder Thesauri und die Gestaltung von Wissensbasen. In vielen Unternehmen wird auch die Informationsversorgung als Teil eines erfolgreichen Wissensmanagements gesehen. In dem Beitrag werden Möglichkeiten aufgezeigt wie Informationsspezialisten ihr dokumentarisches Fachwissen erfolgreich in Wissensmanagementprojekte einbringen können. Darüber hinaus werden Strategien entwickelt wie Information Professionals proaktiv ihre Chancen im Wissensmanagement wahrnehmen können.
