Abstract

Die Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek (EZB) ist Partner von vascoda, einem vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung und der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft geförderten Kooperationsprojekt zum Aufbau eines interdisziplinären Internetportals für wissenschaftliche Information in Deutschland. An diesem Gemeinschaftsunternehmen sind über 40 wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken und Informationseinrichtungen beteiligt. Das gemeinsame Portal vascoda (www.vascoda.de) bietet einen zentralen Zugang zu den verschiedenen Diensten der Partner. Zu nennen sind hier etwa die Informationsdienste bzw. Fachportale der Virtuellen Fachbibliotheken oder der Informationsverbünde. Als ein im akademischen Bereich fest etabliertes Nutzungs- und Zugangssystem für elektronische Zeitschriften, das derzeit in 283 Bibliotheken bzw. Forschungseinrichtungen eingesetzt wird, erfüllt die EZB in vascoda zentrale Querschnittsaufgaben. Sie ist sowohl in das gemeinsame Portal als auch in einzelne Fachportale eingebunden. Eine besondere Rolle kommt ihr beim Nachweis lokaler Nutzungslizenzen als auch bei der Verknüpfung von der Recherche mit dem Zugriff auf den elektronischen Volltext zu.
Verlinkung von vascoda über die EM auf den Zeitschriftenvolltext Seit April 2004 bietet die EZB in vascoda mit Förderung des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung einen neuen Service an. Auf der Basis der OpenURL-Technologie führt die EZB Benutzer von vascoda von einem Rechercheergebnis gezielt zu Volltexten in elektronischen Zeitschriften. Dazu werden dem Benutzer in vascoda nach einer Recherche in der Trefferliste Links zur Elektronischen Zeitschriftenbibliothek angeboten. Ein solcher Link erscheint jedoch nur, wenn es sich bei dem Suchergebnis um einen Nachweis für einen Artikel handelt, der in einer in der EZB nachgewiesenen Zeitschrift enthalten ist. Betätigt der Benutzer einen EZB-Link, gelangt er auf eine eigens für diese Verlinkung gestaltete Seite der EZB. Dort erhält der Nutzer die Information, ob er den in vascoda recherchierten Aufsatz im Volltext nutzen kann. Dabei werden auch die lokal von den EZB-Anwendereinrichtungen erworbenen Lizenzen berücksichtigt. Die EZB gibt nämlich Auskunft, ob der Aufsatz im Volltext kostenfrei zugänglich ist oder durch eine von einer EZB-Anwenderbibliothek bereit gestellten Lizenz genutzt werden kann. Schließlich führt die EZB den Nutzer weiter zum elektronischen Volltext bei dem Anbieter, bei dem Nutzungsrechte vor Ort bestehen. Um dem Nutzer den Zugang zum Volltext zu erleichtern, bietet die EZB in möglichst vielen Fällen einen direkten Link zum gesuchten Aufsatz an. Wo eine Artikelverlinkung nicht möglich ist, verweist die EZB auf die nächsthöhere Ebene, also zum Inhaltsverzeichnis des Heftes, zur Jahrgangsübersicht oder zur Zeitschriftenhomepage. In diesen Fällen erhält der Nutzer spezifische Hinweise, wie er den Volltext abrufen kann. Konkret heißt dies, dass ein Benutzer aus einer akademischen Einrichtung, die an der EZB beteiligt ist, nach einer Recherche in vascoda durch einen Link zur EZB möglichst direkt auf den lizenzierten Aufsatz geleitet wird. Sobald er den EZB-Link betätigt, erhält er die für ihn relevanten Zugangsinformationen zur Zeitschrift und wird auf möglichst kurzem Weg zum Volltext geführt. Im Idealfall kann er direkt auf den lizenzierten Aufsatz zugreifen, wie folgende Grafik veranschaulicht.
