"Seit kurzem bietet FIZ Karlsruhe über seinen in Wissenschaft und Technik führenden Online-Dienst STN International eine neue informationswissenschaftliche Datenbank von Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (USA) an. Damit stehen nun insgesamt 27 CSA-Datenbanken auf STN zur Verfügung. Die bibliografische Datenbank LISA (Library and Information Science Abstracts) enthält Informationen - von 1969 bis heute - zu Bibliothekswesen, Informationswissenschaft und verwandten Gebieten, darunter künstliche Intelligenz, Informatikanwendungen, Informations- und Wissensmanagement, Internettechnologie,Telekommunikation, Bibliotheksmanagement u.v. m. Die Zitate umfassen bibliografische Angaben, kontrolliertes Vokabular und Abstracts. Titel sind in der Originalsprache und in englischer Übersetzung verfügbar. Quellen sind über 440 Fachzeitschriften aus über 68 Ländern in mehr als 20 verschiedenen Sprachen; Aktualisierungen erfolgen zweimal pro Monat. Auf die Informationen in LISA kann über STN mit effizienten Suchfunktionen zugegriffen werden. Suchbegriffe können einzeln, aber auch logisch verknüpft als Kombinationsfrage eingegeben werden. Als Suchergebnis erscheinen nur Publikationen, die alle vorgegebenen Kriterien erfüllen. Ebenfalls möglich ist im Basic Index-Feld die Suche mit einem Wortstamm, an dem Vor- und/oder Nachsilbe durch ein Fragezeichen substituiert werden. Regelmäßige Profilläufe (Alert Services) sind ebenfalls verfügbar. Hierbei wird bei jeder Aktualisierung der Datenbank geprüft, ob für ein zuvor vom Kunden gespeichertes Suchprofil zutreffende Antworten vorhanden sind; diese werden dem Kunden dann zugeschickt. Volltexte derjeweiligen Dokumente können im Anschluss an die Datenbankrecherche über die verschiedenen Volltextliefersysteme der STN Full-Text Solution oder FIZ Karlsruhes Volltextvermittlungsdienst FIZ AutoDoc online bestellt werden (http://autodoc.fizkarlsruhe.de). Auf die Informationen in LISA und den übrigen rund 220 Online-Datenbanken auf STN kann über proprietäre Datennetze zugegriffen werden sowie über das Internet über »STN an the Web« mit einem üblichen Web-Browser (http://stnweb.fiz-karlsruhe.de). LISA wird voraussichtlich zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt auch über »STN Easy«, die Web-Oberfläche für Anfänger und Schnellrecherchen, angeboten werden (http://stneasy.fiz-karlsruhe.de)."
