Abstract
Der vorliegende Artikel fasst die Hauptaussagen einer Seminararbeit zusammen, die an der Fachhochschule Köln, Institut für Informationswissenschaft im Rahmen des weiterführenden Master-Studiengangs "Library and Information Science" (M.L.I.S.) entstanden ist. Neben den wichtigsten Typen von Fachinformationsmitteln aus den Bereichen Geographie und Geowissenschaften werden das methodische Vorgehen im Rahmen der Evaluation der Informationsmittel erläutert sowie die Untersuchungsergebnisse exemplarisch anhand dreier Datenbanken vorgestellt.
