Abstract
Vascoda (www.vascoda.de), das Internetportal für wissenschaftliche Information, bietet einen interdisziplinären Zugriff auf hochwertige Ressourcen unterschiedlicher Publikationsformen und eine komfortable Navigation zu zahlreichen hochwertigen Fachportalen. Die Einzelportale und vascoda werden mit der finanziellen Unterstützung des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) und der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) aufgebaut. Organisatorisch handelt es sich um einen einmaligen Zusammenschluss unterschiedlicher Informationsanbieter (Bibliotheken und Informationszentren). Dieser Artikel gibt eine Übersicht über den Hintergrund, das derzeitige Angebot und die Perspektiven von vascoda. Dabei werden die Serviceleistungen des Portals und der einzelnen Fachportale sowie Entwicklungen von Diensten beschrieben. Daneben versucht dieser Beitrag auch eine Definition der mit vascoda verbundenen Vision zu liefern.
