Abstract
Durch die steigende Zahl (nur mehr) elektronisch vorhandener Daten, durch die wachsende Vielfalt an Datenformaten, deren zunehmende Komplexität und Funktionsvielfalt sowie die extreme Kurzlebigkeit dieser Formate wird die Herausforderung der langfristigen elektronischen Datenspeicherung immer dringlicher. Obwohl schon mehrere Ansätze, wie Migration, Emulation oder Computer-Museen vorgeschlagen wurden, ist doch keine Lösung unter allen Umständen besser als die anderen, die Wahl der optimalen Speicherlösung wird dadurch zu einer sehr komplexen Fragestellung. In diesem Artikel werden im ersten Teil die bekanntesten Strategien zur langfristigen Datenspeicherung vorgestellt. Im zweiten Teil wird auf eine adaptierte Version der Nutzwertanalyse näher eingegangen, die bewusste und dokumentierte Entscheidungen für oder gegen bestimmte Strategien erlaubt.
