Abstract
"Nächste Folie, bitte!" Auf Tagungen, in Meetings, Vorlesungen und Seminaren, politischen Versammlungen, auf Geburtstagsfeiern oder auch im Schulunterricht ist diese Wortfolge immer öfter zu vernehmen: Folienpräsentationen werden in wachsendem Ausmaß zur Wissensvermittlung eingesetzt. Der Hersteller der meistbenutzten Präsentationssoftware, Microsoft, gibt an, dass das hauseigene Produkt PowerPoint inzwischen dreißig Millionen Mal am Tag Verwendung findet (Parker 2001:5). Üblicherweise werden dann begleitend zu einem mündlichen Vortrag in einem je nach Projektorstärke verdunkelten Raum Präsentationsfolien in steter Abfolge an die Wand geworfen. Gerade die Software PowerPoint verfügt zudem über Funktionen, die eine Nutzung von Präsentationsfolien über das ursprüngliche Einsatzgebiet der Vortragsbegleitung hinaus nahe legt. Das Programm ermöglicht die Umwandlung von Präsentationsfolien in HTML-Seiten oder das Erstellen von verschiedenen Handout-Varianten ebenso komfortabel wie das Bereitstellen von Vortragsfolien zum Download oder den direkten E-Mail-Versand von Foliensätzen. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht, wie sich der Einsatz von Präsentationsfolien, die Verteilung derselben per E-Mail, die Bereitstellung als Download, als HTML-Seiten, Druckvorlage oder Handout auf die Vermittlung und Bewahrung von Wissen auswirkt. Hierzu werden in einem ersten Schritt empirische Studien, deskriptive Erfahrungsberichte, Experimente und Fallanalysen zur Nutzung von Präsentationsprogrammen vorgestellt und systematisiert.
