Abstract

Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Bibliotheken und Archiven bei der kooperativen Erschließung von Handschriften und Nachlässen erwies sich seit jeher als äußerst schwierig. In der Bundesrepublik Deutschland zeigte sich dies mit dem Entstehen von zwei separaten Verzeichnissen der Nachlassbestände seit den 1960er Jahren. Anhand von Altakten der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft aus dem Bundesarchiv Koblenz wird die Geschichte der beiden Nachlassverzeichnisse und der Zentralkartei der Autographen in Berlin nachgezeichnet. Es wird zum einen nach den wissenschaftshistorischen Hintergründen, zum anderen nach den Ursachen und Folgen der bis heute bestehenden Konkurrenzsituation zwischen Bibliotheken und Archiven bei der Nachlasserschließung gefragt.
