Abstract

In seiner diesjährigen Frühjahrssitzung am 09.-10. März 2006 hat der Ausschuss für Wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken und Informationssysteme in seiner neuen Zusammensetzung für die Amtsperiode 2006/2007 getagt. Zum Vorsitzenden wurde Dr. Heiner Schnelling, ULB Halle, zu seinem Stellvertreter Dr. Rolf Griebel, BSB München, gewählt. Ein wesentlicher Punkt der Sitzung war die anstehende Umsetzung der Ergebnisse des DFG-Positionspapiers (siehe auch in diesem Heft und unter www.dfg.de/lis unter Punkt >Aktuelles<) sowie des darin aufgeführten Aktionsplans. Das Positionspapier hatte der Ausschuss in seiner Klausurtagung im Herbst 2005 verfasst. Vor dem Hintergrund veränderter Informationsanforderungen werden in dem Positionspapier für die vier Förderbereiche Überregionale Literaturversorgung, Kulturelle Überlieferung, Elektronisches Publizieren und Informationsmanagement Zielvorstellungen definiert und konkrete Vorschläge zu Schwerpunktinitiativen genannt. Darin beinhaltet sind auch Aussagen zu politisch notwendigen Strukturreformen und zur Notwendigkeit einer zentralen Steuerung. Bei allen Aktionen sollten die europäischen Rahmenbedingungen berücksichtigt werden. In den einzelnen Förderbereichen wurden folgende Maßnahmen festgelegt: - Überregionale Literaturversorgung Das Angebot an digitalen Publikationen sollte erheblich ausgeweitet werden. - Elektronisches Publizieren Die bisherige Schwerpunktsetzung im Bereich Open Access sollte fortgesetzt werden.
- Kulturelle Überlieferung Eine der vorgesehenen Maßnahmen, die Digitalisierung historischer Literatur bis 1800, konnte mit der in der Sitzung des Ausschusses für Wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken und Informationssysteme verabschiedeten Aktionslinie »Digitalisierung der in nationalen Verzeichnissen nachgewiesenen Drucke - VD 16/ VD 17« im Rahmen des Förderprogramms )Kulturelle Überlieferung< bereits teilweise auf den Weg gebracht werden. Eine weitere Aktionslinie »Forschungsbibliotheken: Bibliotheken und Archive im Verbund mit der Forschung« sowie die Digitalisierung der Findmittel deutscher Archive werden derzeit vorbereitet. - Informationsmanagement In Ergänzung zu institutionellen Repositorien, die vorrangig dem Nachweis von Sekundärpublikationen dienen, sollen im Rahmen einer Schwerpunktinitiative auch Strukturen zur Verzeichnung und langfristigen Speicherung von Primärdaten, bspw. aus der Meteorologie, den Geo- und Meereswissenschaften, aufgebaut werden. Ein erstes Projekt zur Registrierung von meteorologischen Primärdaten wird derzeit gefördert. Weitere disziplinspezifische Primärdatenbanken sollen folgen. Als weitere Maßnahme wurde vereinbart, die Nachnutzung erfolgreicher, in DFG-geförderten Projekten entwickelter Tools und Module sowie anderer Systemlösungen im Informationsmanagement verstärkt zu unterstützen. Zur Verbreitung von Standards und Normen solle zum einen eng mit Vascoda zusammengearbeitet werden, zum anderen sollte auch eine entsprechende Öffentlichkeitsarbeit gefördert werden können sowie die Anpassung vorhandener Tools und Module.
