Abstract

DGI 1948/2008: Anmerkungen aus gegebenem Anlass zur Dokumentationsterminologie. - Dokumentationsprozesse beruhen wesentlich auf Sprache. Die Inhalte, auf die sie aufsetzen und die sie bearbeiten, müssen den Beteiligten verständlich sein bzw. gemacht werden. Ebenso klar und verständlich müssen die sprachlichen Recherchewerkzeuge im Dokumentationsprozess sein. Bei beidem kommt es auf begriffliches Verständnis an und auf sprachliche Strukturierung. Auf diese Weise ist häufig Terminologie ('geordnete Sprache') enthalten bzw. wird durch Bearbeitung erzeugt. Und dieser Vorgang betrifft auch die Analyse und das Verständnis des (heute immer ausgefeilter gewordenen) Dokumentationsprozesses selbst. Solche Aktivität begleitet die organisierte Dokumentation fast von Anbeginn. Erste Ansätze, für Teilbereiche, finden sich schon in den FID-Vorläufern um 1910. Aber erst nach dem Entstehen einer "Terminologielehre" und mit dem Einsetzen der Thesaurus-Bewegung seit den 1950er Jahren kommt es zur Ausbildung systematischer, grundsätzlicher Terminologie für die "Dokumentation" selbst. In Deutschland hat daran das "Komitee für Terminologie und Sprachfragen" (DGD/KTS, DGI/A-KTS) - wie das DIN - wichtigen Anteil. Sein Beginn seit 1956, seine Neuformierung 1966, seine Erarbeitung der "Terminologie der Information und Dokumentation" (TID, 1975, 2006), die Mitwirkung an Normen des DIN und der ISO und speziell an der Norm ISO 5127 "Vocabulary of information and documentation" sowie die gegenwärtigen Aufgaben sind Ausdruck der Erarbeitung von systematischer Dokumentationsterminologie, deren Notwendigkeit auch heute ungebrochen fortbesteht.
