Abstract

Media Asset Management (MAM) ist Medienobjekt-, Medienlogistik-, Medienrechte- und Medienproduktionsmanagement, ein Informationsraum mit maximaler Ausdehnung, eine hochkomplexe Informationsarchitektur, ein Kerngebiet der Forschung und Entwicklung sowohl für Erschließungsspezialisten als auch Information-Researcher & Media-/Information-Broker mit Informatik-Background oder auch ein Mediendatenbanksystem mit Urheber- und Lizenzverwaltung, Vertriebs-, Verwendungsnachweis- und Abrechnungskomponenten. Etwas stärker abstrahiert ist MAM ein zentrales komplexes Teilgebiet von Information Architecture. Der strukturelle Ansatz zum konzeptionellen Verstehen vom MAM bedient den aus der gewachsenen Bedeutung abzuleitenden Informationsbedarf über Media Asset Management durch eine ganzheitliche Sicht mit einer universell verwendbaren Lösung aus standardisiertem Datenmodell mit semantischer Struktur, notwendigen Architektureigenschaften und Anwendungsmustern.
