Abstract: Die Primo Version 3.0 ist das Ergebnis einer kontinuierlichen Zusammenarbeit mit der rasch wachsenden internationalen Primo-Community. Durch die Kombination aus einer vereinfachten, modernisierten Benutzeroberfläche, der Integration der Opac-Funktion und den gestützten nahtlosen Suchoptionen innerhalb des Primo-Central-Index für wissenschaftliche Materialien ermöglicht Primo 3.0 den Nutzern die Interaktion mit der Bibliothek über eine einzige Benutzeroberfläche.
Content: "Auf der Ergebnisseite bekommen die Benutzer nun sämtliche Informationen zu einem Objekt angezeigt - den kompletten Datensatz mit allen Einzelheiten; Angaben zur Verfügbarkeit; eine Preview (für Online-Artikel); Tags, Bewertungen und Rezensionen; detaillierte Informationen zur Lokalisierung; Empfehlungen auf Grundlage von wissenschaftlichen Benutzermustern und vieles mehr. Primo bietet außerdem den nahtlosen Zugriff auf Primo Central, eine allumfassende Datensammlung wissenschaftlicher Materialien, die von Ex Libris in einem »Cloud Computing«-Umfeld gehostet wird. Primo zeigt eine einzige, nach Relevanz sortierte Ergebnisliste aller lokalen und extern verfügbaren Ressourcen, wobei die Sichtbarkeit lokaler Sammlungen von der jeweiligen Institution kontrolliert wird. Bibliotheksdienste sind jetzt auch über das Primo Userinterface verfügbar - Benutzer können nun beispielsweise ausgeliehene Bücher verlängern; Reservierung, Gebühren und Strafen für überfälliges Leihgut einsehen; ihre Kontaktdaten aktualisieren. Diese vollständige Integration in das bibliothekarische Verwaltungssystem erfolgt über Programmierschnittstellen, die den Empfehlungen der Digital Library Federation für Such-Benutzeroberflächen (DLF ILS-DI) entsprechen. Zusätzlich bietet Primo nun verbesserte Such- und Anzeigeoptionen, eine iPhone-Schnittstelle, vielsprachige Thesauri sowie eine Erweiterung der Backoffice-Funktionen."
