Abstract

Im August 2006 stellte der amerikanische Blogger Matthew White, der Wikipedia als den "McDonald's der Informationen" bezeichnete, sein Wikipedia-kritisches Blog mit der Bemerkung ein, da inzwischen jeder die schlechte Qualität der Wikipedia kenne, sei seine Arbeit erledigt. In dem vorliegenden Artikel berichten drei Wikipedia-Autoren von dem Kampf der deutschsprachigen Wikipedia-Community um die Steigerung der Artikelqualität. Sie zeigen, wie die Community auf den wachsenden Druck der Medien reagiert, und wie sie immer wieder neue Strategien und Konzepte des Qualitätsmanagements entwickelte. Die Untersuchung legt nahe, dass - während sie an einigen Stellen noch an Fastfood erinnert - sich die deutschsprachige Wikipedia in manchen Bereichen schon auf dem Weg zur Haute Cuisine befindet.
