Abstract
Die britische Society of Indexers bietet ein Fernstudium im Indexieren an, wie es zur Zeit in Deutschland nicht existiert. Der Kurs, der zur Qualifizierung eines akkreditierten Indexierers führt, basiert auf britischen und internationalen Normen und besteht aus vier Lehrgangseinheiten. Der Kurs setzt keinerlei Wissen über Buchregister oder das Verlagswesen voraus und kann als Fernstudium problemlos von Deutschland aus absolviert werde. Einzige Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme am Kurs ist die Mitgliedschaft in einer Indexierer-Gesellschaft, wie z.B. der britischen Society of Indexers oder dem Deutschen Netzwerk der Indexer (www.d-indexer.org). Der Artikel gibt einen Überblick über den Inhalt des Kurses und enthält Informationen zu Kosten, Kursdauer und Aufbau des Kurses.
