Abstract

Der Physiker Erwin Neher und der Mediziner Bert Sakmann erfanden eine verblüffend einfache Technik, um die Aktivität einzelner Ionenkanäle in Zellmembranen zu messen. Im Gespräch mit Spektrum schildern die beiden Nobelpreisträger, wie sie dabei die Hürden überwanden und warum sie sich nicht mit dem Bewusstsein beschäftigen.
