Abstract

Das Internet und diesbezüglich das Web bieten eine Vielzahl an Möglichkeiten, um das Nutzerverhalten zu messen und auszuwerten. Es wird jedoch nicht das gesamte Potenzial genutzt, da ein Großteil der Daten im Verborgenen liegt und folglich nicht ausgewertet werden kann. In diesem Kapitel wird das Box-Modell vorgestellt, das die Sichtweise von Unternehmen erklärt und Wege aufzeigt, um ein möglichst großes Potenzial des Web Monitoring zu nutzen. Das dreigeteilte Box-Modell beschreibt unterschiedliche Bereiche des Internet: die Black-, Grey- und White-Box. Während auf die White-Box direkt Einfluss durch die Website-Betreiber genommen werden kann, wird die Grey-Box von den Suchmaschinen beherrscht. Die Black-Box ist der große und unsichtbare Teil, den es möglichst zu verkleinern gilt, indem Teile in die Grey- oder White-Box verlagert werden. Das Web Monitoring muss hierfür den unterschiedlichen Boxen angepasst werden, indem Suchmaschinen, Social-Media-Angebote und Nutzerverhalten "überwacht" werden.
