Abstract

Wissenschaftler führen mit Hilfe der Menschenmenge im Internet ("Crowd") Projekte durch, die ihnen Jahre harter Arbeit ersparen oder sonst sogar überhaupt nicht vorstellbar wären. In der neuen Crowdsourced Science beteiligen sich hunderttausende normaler Bürger in aller Welt an wichtigen Forschungsvorhaben. Der Artikel geht kurz auf die beiden verwandten Konzepte Crowdsourcing sowie Citizen Science ein und gibt anschließend einen Überblick zur Crowdsourced Science. Sein Zentrum bildet die Entwicklung einer Definition und Klassifikation. Passende Beispiele sowie ausgewählte Ergebnisse einer Projektanalyse illustrieren die praktische Anwendung der Crowdsourced Science.
