Abstract
Die Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB) bietet als weltweit größte Datenbank für fortlaufende Sammelwerke umfangreiche Informationen zu mehr als 60000 Zeitungen, die in deutschen und österreichischen Bibliotheken vorgehalten werden. Im Rahmen eines von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) geförderten Projekts soll ein neuer ZDB-Webkatalog entstehen, der bessere Unterstützung für eine Vielzahl von Recherchen bietet als der aktuelle ZDB-OPAC und mittels interaktiver Visualisierungen komplexe Zusammenhänge zwischen verschiedenen Zeitungen sichtbar werden lässt. Dieser Beitrag informiert über das Projekt zur ZDB-Weiterentwicklung und gibt Einblicke in einige zentrale Funktionalitäten des zukünftigen ZDB-Webkatalogs, auf die sich Wissenschaftler/innen, Bibliothekar/innen und Endnutzer/innen 2015 freuen können.
