Abstract
Mit dem Aufbau des Archivportals-D als spartenspezifische Sicht der Deutschen Digitalen Bibliothek (DDB) existiert erstmals ein Zugangspunkt auf nationaler Ebene, über den fachgerecht aufbereitete Informationen zu deutschen Archiven, deren Beständen, Findmitteln und Archivgut bereitgestellt werden. Der Aufsatz informiert über die Idee, die Umsetzung, die Funktionalitäten und Perspektiven des Archivportals für die Nutzerinnen und Nutzer sowie für die beteiligten Archive. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt auf der Verbindung des Archivportals mit der Deutschen Digitalen Bibliothek und den dabei vorhandenen Synergien und Vorteilen. Des Weiteren wird EAD(DDB), Encoded Archival Description, als einheitliches Datenlieferformat im Archivbereich in den Blick genommen und ein Ausblick auf die zukünftigen Herausforderungen und Entwicklungen im Bereich der Deutschen Digitalen Bibliothek gegeben.
