Abstract
Die künftigen Herausforderungen einer effizienten wissenschaftlichen Informationsinfrastruktur sind erheblich. Zu ihrer Bewältigung kommt es auf eine enge Abstimmung aller beteiligten Akteure an. Eine entsprechende Klärung der Rolle der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) und ihres Selbstverständnisses bei der Förderung versucht der Beitrag zu leisten. Ein Teil der DFG-Förderung, die Sondersammelgebiete, wird nach einer intensiven Programmevaluierung grundsätzlich neu ausgerichtet. Hieraus folgt eine weitreichende Umstrukturierung, da sich der Beitrag des neuen Förderprogramms, der Fachinformationsdienste, nicht mehr vorrangig auf umfassende Literatursammlungen bezieht. Ausgehend von einem Rückblick auf den über 60-jährigen Wandel der Förderung wird dargelegt, welche komplementäre Funktion die qualitätsorientierte Zusatzfinanzierung der DFG für Aufbau und Weiterentwicklung von Informationsinfrastrukturen erfüllt. Anschließend wird beschrieben, welche Aufgabe den Fachinformationsdiensten im Gefüge überregionaler Informationsinfrastrukturen zukommt und was der weiterentwickelte Rahmen der DFG-Förderung für die bibliothekarische Sammlung bedeuten kann.
