Abstract
Computer sind allgegenwärtig - auch im Denken. Es ist ein allgemeines Vorurteil geworden, daß menschliches Denken wie ein Computer funktioniert. Tatsächlich spricht einiges dafür: Immer mehr Entscheidungs- und Lösungsprozesse werden durch Expertensysteme substituiert. Studenten erlernen bei Planspielen eine simulierte Wirklichkeit. Die enge Zusammenarbeit mit Computern ist längst zum Alltag geworden und hat die Denkweise selbst grundlegend beeinflußt. Theorie und Praxis gehen vielfach stillschweigend von der These aus: Das Gehirn ist ein Computer. Dennoch zeigt die neuere Gehirnforschung, daß die Gleichsetzung von Gehirn und Computer ein Irrtum ist. Um den Nutzen und die Grenzen der Computeranalogie beurteilen zu können, ist deshalb ein Blick auf die Ergebnisse der Neurowissenschaft der letzten zehn Jahre sehr hilfreich.
