KI kann die Forschung nicht nur beschleunigen, sondern auch die Qualität verbessern, sagt der Chef des Deutschen Forschungszentrums für Künstliche Intelligenz. Nach dem Einzug in Fabriken, Büros, Autos und Wohnungen kommt Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) jetzt auch zunehmend in die Forschungslabore. Immer mehr Wissenschaftler nutzten Roboter oder digitale Assistenzsysteme, um Routinearbeiten bei Recherchen und Analysen sowie Experimente zu erledigen, sagte der Chef des Deutschen Forschungszentrums für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), Professor Wolfgang Wahlster, der Deutschen Presse-Agentur in Saarbrücken. Dies revolutioniere nicht nur das wissenschaftliche Arbeiten: "Es bietet auch die Chance, eine neue, bislang unerreichte Qualitätsstufe in der Forschung zu erklimmen", sagte der 65-Jährige.
