Abstract

Bestehende bibliothekarische Freihand-Systematiken werden den Sachzusammenhängen kulturwissenschaftlicher Literatur immer weniger gerecht. Es kann sinnvoll sein, Bücher nach dem Gesichtspunkt einer künsteübergreifenden Kulturästhetik anzuordnen und zu indexieren. Dadurch erhält ein zentraler Teil der kulturwissenschaftlichen Literatur eine Erschließung, die einer wichtigen Forschungsperspektive entspricht. Erleichterungen bei Benutzung und Systematisierung sind die Folge. Diese werden am Beispiel einer veränderten Bestandsordnung an der Universitätsbibliothek Hildesheim erläutert.
