Abstract

Pt.1 of a 2 pt. article examining the legal aspects of multimedia CD-ROM database publishing. Multimedia contracts that are being signed at present put the lawyers representing the multimedia software publishers and the entertainment related companies in a position of struggling with a multitude of novel legal issues associated with the contracts for acquiring the source materials. Presents a review of the basic legal issues related to licensing entertainment rights for source materials. A subsection, by Mary Brandt Jenson, lists the 10 common mistakes people make in negotiating electronic information product licences
